September blew by in a blink. October, too. It's always a hectic time of year as we settle into new routines with school, extracurriculars, and work. However, I did manage to squeeze in some fun over the past couple of months. So, my monthly instalment of FIVE things is going to be an extended cut with bonus tracks.
STREAM: Beckham
The OG Popstar/Football star duo gave us a behind the scenes of the wild phenomenon that was AND STILL IS Posh & Becks. I thoroughly enjoyed every moment down memory lane. TS & TK have some big shoes to fill.
STREAM: Sex Education
This show is a masterpiece, its final season being no exception. The acting, the storylines, the costuming, the sets... all stunning. Like the purpose of the subject, Sex Education, the overarching theme, to me, seemed to be that of empowerment. In the vein of Schitt's Creek, it's a window into a world of acceptance in all forms. And, much like Ted Lasso, it provides a playbook for navigating conversations. I loved, loved, loved it so very much. Highly recommend.
PODCAST: The Handsome Podcast
Featuring three of my favourite female comedians, Tig Notaro, Fortune Feimster, and Mae Martin. It's like being in a room with your funniest friends as they banter. It's a delight and I find myself looking forward to new episodes every Tuesday. It's quickly become part of my weekly routine.
READ: The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches by Sangu Mandanna
Very seasonal. Very heartwarming. A very sweet read.
TREAT: Craig's Cookies & Unholy Donuts
If you happen to find yourself on Church Street in Toronto, be sure to pop in. Both deliciously decadent treats. YUM!
FILM: Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour.
If, like me, you didn't win the Eras Tour ticket lottery, this is the next best thing. We went on opening night and it was an EVENT. From dressing up as your favourite ERA (I went as Reputation because, as my daughter insisted I have the perfect Reputation boots that would be wasted if not worn to this), to the friendship bracelet trading, the dancing, the chants, the scream/singing and the VERY over-priced Eras Tour cups and popcorn buckets, we did it all and it was a BLAST.
